Instructions on taking care of anything vary from person to person. If everyone healed the same, or if everyone’s skin was the exact same, then dermatology would be a redundant field. Some people are oily, some dry, some people have sensitive skin, some burn easy, some keloid, some scar, some bruise at the drop of a hat. Because of this, you may receive special instructions or tips after receiving your body modification which may directly contradict instructions posted here. It’s always what the artist has found to work best for their own work, based on their experience watching people heal or not heal, asking questions, and applying learned information from whoever taught them. Because everyone is different, aftercare will be on a person-to-person basis. If your artist told you to do something that is not in these general instructions, ignore these instructions and listen to the expert. If you’re hoping to find information that your artist didn’t tell you, then read away; but take these instructions for what they are: a generalized list of do’s and don’ts.
